Cuban Exiles are Delaying Freedom

Slightly off topic from this blog, but not very much. I have something to say about the recent announcement of the resignation of Fidel Castro. This is going to change nothing...

A recent story in the AP says that Cuban exiles in Florida are unmoved by the resignation, and why should they be? They are living comfortably in a the capitalist land of opportunity. They have privilages and rights that their countrymen could only dream about. They were the ones who were motivated enough to seek out a better life, but they were too selfish to seek it out and fight for it in their own country. They wanted freedom and they got it, in the United States. The point is that nothing in Cuba is going to change until the people in Cuba decide to fight for it. The oppressive government can't kill everyone or they wouldn't have any subjects to oppress. Imagine if all of the Cuban refugees who fled the Communist dictatorship in favor of freedom were to return to Cuba. Within a matter of months, possibly weeks, you would have a democratic revolution in Havanna and ALL of the Cuban people would be free.

I see the same possibility in the United States, or wherever else oppression has taken hold. When we become unwilling to fight for Freedom and instead we run away we become just as guilty as those who are executing the oppression. In the 2004 election , many democrats said that if George W. Bush was elected again, they would, in a manner of speaking, exile themselves in Canada. I can see many conservatives making similar plans if a Democrat is sworn in in 2009. Are we as a human race so weak and so incapable of defending our natural right to be free? I think not. We are quite capable.

In the name of freedom, stand up for what is right.

My America

No catchy quotations, no spiffy formatting. Only a message about my vision of America, read it envision it, and live it. Freedom first: Live free or die.

My America was founded on the principles of liberty...not security. A life without risk is a life hardly worth living. In my America, you are only as safe as you choose to be. People are free to live, or to die. You are a soverign individual and you are solely responsible for you.

My America is one where personal responsibility is the greater good. When we all take care of ourselves, we are all taken care of. Nobody has the right to another persons' earnings. Nobody can ever point a gun in your face and rob you blind. My America would have no taxation on achievement, penalties for doing well and making wise decisions.

My America is an educated America where people are free to choose how educated that they want to become. In my America, there are no unionized government employees who hold the country hostage for their own selfish gains. Money follows students, not failed schools. There is not a one size fits all secondary education that emphasizes college is the only way to go...which leaves millions of students clueless about their own futures. Every student has a basic understanding of economics and financial savvy before they become targets of preditory banks in college. Everybody knows that when you take out a debt you pay it, and you don't leave it up to the tax payers in the form of business writeoffs.

My America and it's citizens have integrity and are driven by honor and pride. Patriotism and purpose. The need to be the best is the driving force. We reward excellence and we do not support failure. Those who choose not to take care of themselves will be left behind. All charity is voluntary and private sector driven.

My America has no room in it's prisons for non-violent offenders. You are free to live your lives as you see fit just so long as you do not interfere with somebody else's right to live as they see fit.

My America has no room for career politicians more concerned with the acquisition of power rather than the best interest of the people they represent. Those people who would seek to use the ballot to impose their morals and values on others are ignored.

My America does not exist. It is a thing of imagination. What we have is what we have built. A tyrrany of illegal and unconstitutional policies such as the 16th amendment and the establishment of the federal reserve. Blatent violations of the 10th amendment to the constiution with the uncontrolled, unchecked growth of the federal government.

Independent's Day

I do this real moron thing, it's called thinking, and I'm not a very good Amercian because I like to form my own opionions.

-George Carlin

Every few years in the Republic of the United States of America, we have the opportunity at a revolution. A revolution not by bullets, not by bombs, but equally able to create shockwaves in this world. It is by the ballot that we can change the course of this country, it is by the ballot that we can instill leaders who hold the ideals of LIBERTY and FREEDOM above personal ambitions. This country is divided into two factions, two sects who hold the power and crush any meaningful opposition to a change in the "system". The Democrats and the Republicans of this country are merely labels for putting an ambitious pig into office so that they can enjoy elitist privilages and help themselves the the public caughers which have been bastardized to nothing more than an all you can eat buffet to advance personal ambition. Ambition not for the citizens of this country for whom the government was designed to work for. Ambition only for a place in the history books. Ambition for name recognition in one hundred years. To that purpose, no conflicting opinions, and no obsticles will be suffered in that pursuit. No dissent will go unchallenged. No challenge will go unanswered.

Thisi upcomming election day, dare to move beyond the rank and file. Dare to break the partisan definitions that have held this country hostage for so long. When Abraham Lincoln was elected president in 1860, he was the first of a fledgling Republican party dedicated to the proposition of individual responsibility and FREEDOM. Over time, that courage of principle was lost to infinite compromise. Integrity was lost to it, Principle lay down before it. And those who would ask us to surrender our very individual, our independance, and our FREEDOM took root in the system and began to decay it. The mold and filth of our time would ask you to give all you have to those who do not deserve it. Those who denounce your private rights and freedoms would gladly help themselves to your achievements with no consideration of the sweat and blood you put into EARNING them.

Next November, your duty is to break with tradition, your duty is to be independant of the talking points. Show your fellow American's that you have a brain and are capable of intelligent thought. Show them that you can wisely use your thought process to select the person who is best for this nation and not best for your pocket book.

Make this presidential election Indepenant's Day.

Know Your Enemy

On Social Inequality:

"With Equality of opportunity you run the risk of failure, with equality of result, you ensure it."
~Me

Tyrrany, in all it's forms, is what we must resist. Any action by government that attempts to make you relinquish your freedom and your responsibility for yourself, you must resist.

Democracy: too much democracy is in fact, a bad thing. When you stake your freedom on the dumb masses of society, you will be the one who loses out. All to many would rather see themselves secure than free. Too many would rather concede 100 freedoms than take one risk with their lives. They would rather play it safe than risk failure.

There is a very important phrase that everybody should know. It's almost cliche, but bear with me and think about it.

"Aim for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars"

If you never try, you will never succeed!

Communism and Socialism:

These political and economic theories are perhaps the most damaging items to the concept of freedom. If you have not done so, I reccomend reading the Communist Manifesto written by Karl Marx, and Fredric Engels. This document outlines the planks of the communist movement. Those planks are as follows:

  • Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes.
  • A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
  • Abolition of all right of inheritance.
  • Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.
  • Centralisation of credit in the hands of the State, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.
  • Centralisation of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the State.
  • Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State; the bringing into cultivation of waste-lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
  • Equal liability of all to labour. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
  • Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country, by a more equable distribution of the population over the country.
  • Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labour in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production
  • As you can see, these planks are mainly aimed at abolition of rights as well as confiscation of property. During the 1840's when this document was proposed, there may have been a legitimate gripe against the wealthy as they were exploiting the lower classes when these lower classes could absolutely not better themseves. Nowadays in the United States, we have Equality of opportunity where everybody has equal access to education, jobs, and housing. There are people who chose not to use their power of choice well nd they make up the lower class in this country. They are not oppressed, nor are they to be entitled to the earnings of another. There is no such thing as disadvantaged, unfortunate, or unlucky people in this country. There are only those who do not achieve.

And it is not the roll of government to help those who will not help themselves.

    What Freedom Means To Me

Liberty has never come from the government.  Liberty has always come from the subjects of it.  The history of liberty is a history of resistance.  ~Woodrow Wilson

This we must all know, this we must never forget.  It is this message that we should spread with every breath, with every bone in our bodies.  Remove every trace of doubt in your mind of the truth of this message.

Aid the cause of freedom by taking responsibility for your own actions. Never cave to the temptation to claim victimization as this will set the precident for your life. Accepting the doctrine of victimization leads to a personal vunerability which the entity known as government will capitalize on. In being handed security rather than working for it, you are a dependant. You are an addict. You have lost a freedom.

Take control of your life. Live up to your responsibilities. And never allow yourself to give in to dependancy.

What does your freedom mean to you? What would you do to protect it?

    Whether by accident...

whether by design, you've come across my page. I promise you will not be disappointed, for the content to come will be my attempt to light a beacon unto the people of the United States and the world, that you may find solace in the freedoms which you have. We are all endowed by our creator, whether natural or supernatural, with certain inalienable rights.

    Life.
    Liberty.
    And the pursuit of happiness.

Do not trade your rights, do not squander them. Do not allow them to be suppressed. Live life in awe of the freedom which you are afforded and take nothing for granted. It can be said that freedom will not be noticed until you are no longer graced by it's warmth. When you are in the cold slavery of a dictatorship, you will know what was so worth fighting for. And you will.

Reserve this day to freedom and it shall survive to see you through the darkness.
